I have been qualified as a counsellor since 2023. I hold a Diploma in Counselling and have many years of experience working in various Youth/Family in support roles within social work, education and the third sector. My practical down to earth approach enables me to work with lots of different people covering a range of difficulties and I have a special interest in young people, Self-harm, the impact of Gender difficulties, Sexuality and Mental Health. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I would describe my approach as integrative, and person-centred.
Using a person-centred approach means that I put you at the centre of the counselling process. Integrative means that I will be using a variety of styles to meet your needs such as person centred, cognitive behavioural therapy, which is more solution focussed and if chosen, arts and crafts.
I am skilled in working with complex painful issues in a trauma informed way. I have worked with people with learning difficulties and with Neurodivergence, including autism, ADHD, ADD.
I offer a safe, non-judgmental, confidential place where you can explore what's happening in your life, any blocks, or difficulties you are having.
I can work with a lot of different issues ranging from self-esteem and confidence, depression, stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, personal difficulties and life changes, anger, work-related problems, and trauma such as bereavement domestic or sexual abuse. Although there are many other areas in which I can help.
